Asa Cruea, 79, of 107 Washington a life resident of Covington died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec 30, 1971 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville Ill. He had been a patient 6 days. Born Jan 5, 1892 in Covington he was the son of Hezakiah and Mary E. Bridgett Cruea. He was married May 22, 1919 to Bertha Hodge, who survives. Mr. Creua had been a scrap metal and fur dealer. He was a veteran of service in the Army during WWI. Survivors include two sons, Goerge E and Arthur, both of Covington, Fountain County Sheriff & Deputy, respectively; two daughters, Mrs. Lela Clifton of Danville and Mrs. Pearl Noble of Covintgton; a sister, Mrs. Cora Moore of Crawfordsville; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral home. The Rev. Harold Fogle will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Saturday.
